About BioRegional ReclaimedBioRegional Reclaimed offer services that aim to increase the levels of reclamation in the construction and demolition industry, and to increase the reuse of reclaimed construction components. We are part of BioRegional Development Group, an independent environmental organisation dedicated to developing practical solutions for sustainability. BioRegional Reclaimed was created in 2000 to broker the sourcing and reuse of a range of reclaimed materials, including 100 tonnes of steel and 54km of timber studwork. These materials were used in the building of the Beddington Zero Energy Development (BedZED), and resulted in up to 96% savings of environmental impact at no extra cost. We recognised a considerable potential for the substitution of reclaimed materials for new, on almost any type or size of building project. Widespread use of reclaimed products would bring about enormous environmental benefits at no significant cost. Since BedZED, BioRegional has promoted the use of reclaimed materials in construction and explored ways to develop more robust supply chains. BioRegional Reclaimed have liased with demolition contractors on an informal basis to broker and/or supply reclaimed materials, on a variety of high profile projects and reports. BioRegional Reclaimed is currently gratefully funded by Defra through the Business Reuse Fund. BioRegional also carry out Continued Professional Development on the reclamation and reuse of construction materials. For details of forthcoming events see the BioRegional CPD web page. We would also like to thank the following for their generous support of BioRegional Reclaimed in the past:
